Bloomington Board of RealtorsŪ Makes Major Upgrades to Homefinder.Org

Date: Jul 10, 2008

The Bloomington Board of REALTORSŪ and its subsidiary corporation, Bloomington MLS, Inc., are well known for their pioneering online multiple listing website www.homefinder.org, which first went online in 1997. In 2001 www.homefinder.org was recognized by the National Association of REALTORSŪ Association Executive Magazine as one of the top Internet-based multiple listing services in the United States. Recently, the Board released a series of enhancements to their system, developed with ConsulTech Technologies, which has been the primary technology partner of the BBOR since 1997.

According to Elizabeth Kehoe, BBOR's Executive Vice President, "When Homefinder was being developed in the late 1990s, the goal was to create a tool for area REALTORS, and to make finding a house easier for area residents. The new enhancements we have released make the REALTOR side of the Homefinder system a much more powerful tool for REALTORS and brokers, to help them better serve their clients."

Patrick Casey, ConsulTech CEO, stated "We worked with a focus group of area REALTORS, brokers, and appraisers to make significant enhancements to the searching tools used by area real estate professionals. Much of what we did came from the ideas of these local leaders. In addition, we partnered with GeoJet eMapping of Calgary Alberta to bring electronic mapping to the REALTOR-side of the system."

Kehoe adds, "GeoJet is one of the premier providers of e-mapping systems. They work with real estate boards throughout the US and Canada to bring the power of map-based searching to systems like ours. We have been talking about electronic mapping tools since 2006, and we are very pleased to bring it on line for our members."
