Bloomington, IN: The Bloomington Area Arts Council has signed up a new sponsor for www.bloomingtonArts.info, the community’s online arts calendar. ConsulTech Technologies -- which hosts the web site -- joins the City of Bloomington, The Verizon Foundation, the Indiana Arts Commission, and Indiana University in sponsoring the portal.

“ConsulTech is one of Bloomington's oldest technology service providers", states Patrick Casey, ConsulTech CEO. "We pride ourselves on providing high-quality technology solutions to local organizations in ways that enhance the quality of life in Bloomington. We are very pleased to become a sponsor of bloomingtonArts.info, which is a great asset for the local arts community.”

Nancy Krueger, director of the Bloomington Area Arts Council, explains, "The bloomingtonArts.info web site was designed to help arts and event organizations in many ways. The special features provided by the site include audience building, event planning, online ticket sales, and media contacts. We are pleased to add ConsulTech to the list of area organizations that invest in the Bloomington area arts community."

Bloomington is fortunate to have a wealth of creative performance and arts events taking place every week. There are plays, concerts, dance performances, art openings, lectures, films--but locating the correct information on events from one source can often be a challenge. The community arts calendar, bloomingtonArts.info, was designed to address the need for a centralized arts calendar. It began as a collaborative partnership between Indiana University and the City of Bloomington, funding the usability studies, system design, and software development of the project. Envisage, a software development house, provided untold hours of programming and design work. The BAAC also worked actively with local arts organizations, visionaries, and technologists to plan and develop the site ensure the project's ease of use and robustness.

The Bloomington Area Arts Council supports public participation in the arts by developing, strengthening, and promoting the cultural resources of Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Monroe, and Owen Counties.

ConsulTech provides information technology services to dozens of companies and not-for-profit organizations in the Bloomington area including IndianaArts.org, Bands of America, and Mind's Ear Audio Productions.
